Bayern star creeping up on sublime Barcelona duo in WhoScored rankings for 2026-27

Who are the best-performing players across Europe’s top five leagues this season? We’ve turned to their WhoScored ratings to find out.

WhoScored‘s comprehensive system of player ratings is based on a whole host of stats, which give an indication of who’s playing well and who’s not.

As the season progresses, we’ll be keeping track of the top 10 highest-rated players in Europe’s top five leagues. Right now, there’s no one from the Premier League…

10. Jude Bellingham – 7.76

Bellingham had a brightish start to the season with Real Madrid and got himself back among the scorers at the weekend against Racing Santander in his highest-rated performance of the season so far.

9. Lassine Sinayoko – 7.77

Sinayoko’s numbers have swelled in recent weeks. Of his eight goals and five assists this season for Paris FC, four each have come in his last three games.

Unsurprisingly, he’s been the highest-rated player in two of them.

8. Maximilian Mittelstadt – 7.77

Try saying that name in a hurry.

Stuttgart lost their last two matches before the break, but Mittelstadt received a man-of-the-match rating in both of them. It wouldn’t be a massive shock to see the 29-year-old Germany international move on in the summer if the Swabians regress to the mean and fail to qualify for Europe again.

7. Marco Grull – 7.79

It’s been a decent start to the season for Werder Bremen and Austrian midfielder Grull has stood out.

He both scored and assisted, with a man-of-the-match rating, as they defeated RB Leipzig and Augsburg at the Weser Stadium. Grull even came out of their opening weekend 4-1 tonking at Freiburg with credit, earning an 8.01 match rating in the heavy loss.

He was the highest-rated player against Borussia Dortmund when they got back from the international break and has made an assist in each of his last two game.s

6. Harry Kane – 7.82

Since the international break, he’s been more about the assists (five) than the goals (one) in the league, but it just shows he really can do it all.

5. Antonio Nusa – 7.87

RB Leipzig prospect Nusa has four goals and six assists to his name so far this season. We’re pretty sure the big clubs will be circling.

He was the match winner on Halloween against Schalke with a goal and assist in a 2-0 win.

Still only 21, the winger has a big future ahead of him.

4. Kylian Mbappe – 8.04

Mbappe came second for the Ballon d’Or this year, but mission 2027 is well underway.

A hat-trick against Real Sociedad in Madrid’s second game of the season showed Mbappe means business after a summer in which he became the World Cup’s leading scorer of all time.

The French forward has also scored braces against Rayo Vallecano, Sevilla and Barcelona, helping him creep up on the leaders here.

3. Michael Olise – 8.18

By last season’s standards, Olise had a bit of a quiet start to 2026-27. Just one goal and zero assists in their first three Bundesliga outings of the campaign, which included a goalless draw at newly-promoted Schalke and a narrow 2-1 victory over minnows Elversberg.

But his 10.0 masterclass in the Champions League against Bodo/Glimt (two goals and an assist) hinted that last term was no flash in the pan. He remains one of Europe’s most devastating, elite forwards. A hat-trick and another 10.0 rating in a 7-0 mauling of Union Berlin catapulted him into the top five, and a goal-and-assist performance against RB Leipzig lifted him higher into the top three.

2. Raphinha – 8.50

Back in January, we declared Raphinha the best player in the world, asking the question:

“Is there another player in world football who can claim to elevate their team as much as Raphinha? In a collective sport, isn’t that the most important thing?”

That take didn’t age all that well, as the Brazilian suffered a frustratingly injury-ravaged latter half of the 2025-26 campaign and struggled to make an impact at the World Cup as a result.

But look at him now. After being converted into a striker, Raphinha has been on fire this season. Fifteen(!) goals and three assists in La Liga so far, averaging a goal contribution every 40 minutes.

Even when he failed to find the net for the first time this season, Raphinha set up two goals in Barca’s 4-2 win over Levante. And then returned with back-to-back hat-tricks. He is the top scorer across Europe.

1. Lamine Yamal – 8.67

Quite simply, Yamal is taking his game to new levels this season. Ten goals and seven assists in La Liga from just 11 games. El Clasico was the first time since August he’d played in a Barcelona game without contributing to a goal.

Barca’s failure to win that game knocked his rating down a bit here, but he’s still top of the tree.

And yep, he’s still only 19. This lad is ridiculous. He has completed the most dribbles across Europe.
