MUNSTER will honour former captain and coach Anthony Foley before Saturday’s Champions Cup game against Racing 92 in Cork to mark 10 years since his death.
Foley’s sudden passing on October 16, 2016 occurred on the eve of a Champions Cup match against the same opposition in France when he was in charge of the Irish province.
Before kick-off at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Jean Wallace and members of Shannon RFC – Foley’s former club – will perform in tribute.
Munster’s players will wear special commemorative jackets with the Munster crest and the number eight – Foley’s position – and Munster fans are set to lead a round of applause in the eighth minute in honour of the fans’ favourite who was known as ‘Axel’.
