The top goalscorers for club & country in 2026 so far: Kane, Yamal, Mbappe, Raphinha…

Big names from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Bayern Munich feature alongside some surprise names in the most prolific goalscorers of the calendar year so far.

Some big names are surprisingly absent from the most prolific goalscorers of 2026 to date.

Drawn from Europe’s five major leagues, here are the top 10 goalscorers in 2026 across club and international competitions.

10. Mikel Oyarzabal – 24 goals

The striker infamously failed to have a touch of the ball in his first 30 minutes of World Cup action this summer, but he put that slow start behind him.

The man who delivered La Roja’s match-winner against England in the Euro 2024 final, he’s in the form of his career. He scored in Real Sociedad’s Copa del Rey final victory over Atletico Madrid and his year went on to get a lot better than that.

He scored five goals in the World Cup, briefly putting himself in dark horse contention for the Golden Boot, but he was never really challenging the superstars at the top of the list.

Another match-winner against England was a sweet bonus for one of the most underrated strikers around.

9. Viktor Gyokeres – 24 goals

The jury is still out on Gyokeres, who remains a perplexing forward.

This calendar year has seen him look borderline anonymous and increasingly sidelined at Arsenal.

And yet Gyokeres also fired Sweden to the World Cup with a hat-trick against Ukraine and a late winner against Poland. He’s basically the Ikea Gerd Muller at this point.

8. Vinicius Junior – 24 goals

The Real Madrid forward was distinctly underwhelming for over a year after vowing “I’ll do it 10x if I have to. They’re not ready” following his Ballon d’Or snub back in 2024.

He’s taken his sweet time, but he’s finally starting to make good on that promise – five of his 24 goals this calendar year were clutch goals in the Champions League, with another two in a big comeback victory over Atletico Madrid.

Up until recently, his overall record for Brazil has left a lot to be desired. Neymar, he ain’t. But his goals against Haiti, Morocco and Scotland in the group stage probably placed him as Brazil’s standout player in an otherwise desperately disappointing World Cup campaign under Carlo Ancelotti.

Things haven’t exactly been going to plan for him this season, though.

7. Ousmane Dembele – 26 goals

Dembele has scored 20 goals in 36 PSG appearances this year, including several crucial strikes in Europe – none bigger than the equalising spot kick he coolly dispatched against Arsenal in the Champions League final.

His goal in France’s World Cup win over Iraq was, incredibly, his first in major tournament football. That was swiftly followed up with a rapid hat-trick against Norway, before another in the quarter-final against Morocco.

He is largely taking it easy right now, once again frequently rested during PSG’s domestic campaign. But he popped up with a goal against Manchester City.

6. Michael Olise – 29 goals

A recent entrant into the top 10 after heading into the international break on the back of a hat trick against Union Berlin.

Olise was the Bundesliga’s best assister last season but has been more than capable of finding the net himself a fair few times too.

He didn’t score any goals at the World Cup but netted the winner in Zinedine Zidane’s second game in charge of France. The best Fantasy Footballer around right now.

5. Lamine Yamal – 33 goals

Yamal has long been talked up as a Ballon d’Or contender, and slowly but surely he’s getting the numbers to back it up.

The teenager’s goalscoring output has grown season on season, and 2025-26 was no exception. February’s hat-trick against Villarreal was evidence of a player about to go truly stratospheric.

Unfortunately, the final furlong of the campaign was hit by a hamstring injury, or else we suspect he’d be a few places higher up in this list.

He needed just 10 minutes in his first World Cup start to find the back of the net, although that would be his only goal in Spain’s triumph out in North America.

Now he’s looking fit and hungry – at least based on the evidence of his exceptional form of late.

4. Raphinha – 34 goals

The Brazilian has an exceptional tally of 34 goals for Barcelona so far this calendar year, which is especially impressive when you consider he’s missed quite a lot of action due to injury.

He averages a goal every 51 minutes for Barca this season – to put that in context, Kylian Mbappe averages a goal every 83 minutes for Real Madrid.

Raphinha has scored in all but two of the Barca games he’s played in in 2026-27, scoring hat tricks in two, and currently leads the Europe-wide goalscoring charts with 15 in the league.

3. Erling Haaland – 36 goals

The top three are the last three winners of the European Golden Shoe. This list has taken a while to take shape, but the frontrunners are the usual suspects.

Haaland’s four goals against Iraq and Senegal in the group stages finally saw him climb up into the top 10, from which he was surprisingly absent in the latter half of the 2025-26 club season, before he added to his World Cup tally against the Ivory Coast. Then there were two goals against Brazil.

He finally drew a blank as Norway exited the World Cup at the hands of England at the quarter-final stage. He earned a well-deserved rest before spearheading Man City’s new era under Enzo Maresca.

Same as it ever was with nine goals in eight Premier League appearances for City this season, plus braces against Porto and PSG.

2. Kylian Mbappe – 40 goals

Like his rival Haaland, it somehow took Mbappe until mid-June to enter the top 10.

Mbappe kicked off the year in superb style, scoring in six successive starts for Real Madrid (nine goals in total) before dipping considerably with just one goal in his next seven appearances.

By the nature of his 10 goals at the World Cup, we don’t expect to see the Real Madrid superstar dropping back out. His Champions League record is pretty sensational.

1. Harry Kane – 54 goals

Arguably the finest player in world football right now. How often have you been able to say that about an Englishman?

The only player in Europe’s five major leagues to average a better-than-goal-a-game output so far this calendar year, the England captain has 37 goals in 33 appearances for Bayern Munich in all competitions in 2026 – including home and away against Real Madrid and PSG.

He capped off his superb season with a hat-trick in the DFB Pokal final. Two goals against Croatia showed Kane carried his form into the World Cup, where he eventually scored six times.

Unbelievably, the Norway game was Kane’s first knockout appearance for club and country in 2025-26 in which he score. Which, of course, he followed with a blank against Argentina.

Surprisingly enough, Kane failed to add to his tally by drawing a blank in his first three Bayern appearances of the 2026-27 campaign.

But it’s back to normal service with his Bayern tally standing at 10 goals in 12 games. The Czechs and Croatia have been on the receiving end in the Nations League too.

Still some way to go before catching Lionel Messi’s calendar year record, mind.
