Surrey have signed England all-rounder Freya Kemp from Hampshire on a "multi-year deal" from the 2027 season onwards.

The 21-year-old left-arm seamer has played for England 49 times, scoring 585 runs across 36 innings and taking 36 wickets across both formats.

She enjoyed a successful international campaign in 2026, striking at 157.89 with an average of 45 at the Women's T20 World Cup.

Kemp also produced England's best bowling figures of 4-22 against Sri Lanka in the opening match of the tournament.

"Surrey are a huge club and have an amazing squad," Kemp told the club website.

"I am very grateful for my time at Hampshire, who have played a key role in my development to get where I am today.

"It was a hard decision, but the opportunity to play for Surrey and be closer to home was one I couldn't turn down."

Kemp began her career at Sussex, making her debut aged just 14 in the Women's T20 Cup.

She has gone on to play domestically for Southern Vipers and Hampshire, as well as global franchise cricket with Welsh Fire and Southern Brave in The Hundred and Perth Scorchers in the Women's Big Bash League in Australia.

Emma Calvert, Surrey's director of women's cricket, added: "She is an incredibly exciting young player who has already shown her potential on the international stage.

"The experience she has gained across international, franchise and domestic cricket, along with her character and work ethic, will be a huge asset to the club both on and off the pitch."

Surrey have not disclosed the exact duration of Kemp's contract at the Kia Oval.
