Joshua Duerksen has completed his first test for Mercedes at the Autodromo do Algarve.

The Formula 2 race-winner spent two days driving a W16 of the type raced by Mercedes last year at the Portuguese track, which will hold a round of the 2027 F1 calendar.

“This is a day, and a week, that I will remember for the rest of my life,” said Duerksen. “Driving a Formula 1 car for the first time is something every young driver dreams about, and to do that as the first Paraguayan to reach this milestone makes it even more special.”
