Australia will be travelling to South Africa for a multi-format series featuring three ODIs and three Test matches. The tour begins with three 50-over games, which will be played in Durban, Johannesburg and Potchefstroom. The first two are day games, while the third will be played under lights.

Both teams have been grappling with injury concerns in the lead-up to the series, and there are question marks over the availability of for the first ODI. The Test captain will see his workload being managed ahead of the Test series, with him having hinted earlier that he could be available for just one match out of the three.

For South Africa, several names who were picked initially will also miss out, among them being star pacer Kagiso Rabada. He suffered a hamstring injury last month, which puts him in a race against time to be fit for the Tests that begin on January 9.
