Macs Page has a "huge future" with Wales despite being left out of Steve Tandy's Nations Championship squad, according to former Dragons and Ospreys boss Lyn Jones.
Wing Page, 21, had been tipped for a call-up for the November Tests having been in fine form for Scarlets.
Tandy's squad features three uncapped players – prop Rhys Barratt, centre Aneurin Owen and scrum-half Che Hope – and Jones feels Page's age may have counted against him.
"Experience is something that has been lacking from the Welsh squad," Jones told BBC Radio Wales Breakfast.
"It's another young, uncapped player and he (Tandy) is probably a little bit afraid to introduce Macs just at the moment, but he has a huge, huge future for Wales. That is for certain."
Having established himself at Parc y Scarlets in 2024-25, Page toured Japan with Wales in 2025 without winning a cap.
He admits to enduring a more challenging second season with his region, but has made an impressive start to the current campaign.
Former Wales flanker Jones says Crymych RFC product Page has been "one of the best players I have seen playing this season".
"I don't wish to sound a bit over the top but he is," Jones added.
"He has the ability to hold people up, take them on outside, [he is] unbelievably strong in the tackle area.
"The big weakness with wingers in Wales is the inability to win the ball in the air from a high kick. It's been awful with us. With Macs Page, with Rio Dyer, it's a skill we are now starting to be at home with."
Wales will take on Japan, New Zealand and Australia in Cardiff next month before meeting a southern hemisphere opponent on finals weekend at Twickenham.
Page has travelled to South Africa with Scarlets for United Rugby Championship (URC) fixtures against Stormers and Bulls to finish the first block of the season.
