The 92nd edition of the coveted Ranji Trophy is set to get underway, with Jammu & Kashmir looking to defend their crown after a historic title last season. The term, to be played in five phases, will conclude with the final, scheduled to start on February 27.

A total of 32 teams in the Elite division are divided into four groups of eight - Group A, B, C, and D, alongside a Plate group, which comprises six more teams.

As for the match timings, most of the games start with day's action beginning at 9:30am IST (5am UK time), while few games commence at 9am IST (4:30am UK time).

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja set to feature in the first round of the season as Saurashtra take on Chhattisgarh, under Jaydev Unadkat's captaincy. Mohammed Siraj will be leading the Hyderabad side against Delhi, while Akash Deep will play for Bengal versus Tripura. Yashasvi Jaiswal will be in action for Mumbai against Chandigarh at Wankhede stadium.

His opening partner KL Rahul is also set to take the field for Karnataka, led by Ravichandran Smaran, as they face Andhra in their season opener. With the New Zealand tour coming up next month, this will serve as a way for India Test players to get into red-ball rhythm, a few of them having played white-ball cricket in the recent ODI series versus the West Indies.
