New contract keeps Brazilian Grand Prix on the calendar until 2035 | Formula 1

Formula 1 has extended its deal to race at Interlagos until at least 2035.

The series has announced a five-year contract extension for the round. The Brazilian Grand Prix, officially titled the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, is the series’ only event in South America.

F1 said the venue will make “continued significant investments” over the coming years. Interlagos last extended its contract to host F1 in 2023.

“The continued success and excitement surrounding the event shows why it holds such a special place on our calendar, and this agreement underlines our long-term commitment to Brazil,” said F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali. “I would like to thank the Mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, and the President and CEO of Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Alan Adler, for their continued commitment and investment.”

Two Brazilian drivers are competing in the race this year. It is the first time more than two Brazilians have raced in F1’s round at Interlagos since 2016. Gabriel Bortoleto is in his second season at Audi while Rafael Camara is making his grand prix debut this weekend with Haas.
