India have named a 16-strong squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar earning a recall.
Bhuvneshwar returns to the India T20I squad after a four-year hiatus. The veteran quick was instrumental in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's back-to-back IPL title wins, picking up a combined 45 wickets over two seasons. Bhuvneshwar's last T20I outing also came in New Zealand in 2022, where he picked up one wicket in two matches as India won the series 1-0.
Varun Chakaravarthy returns to the squad after missing the one-off Japan T20I, Asian Games and the West Indies T20Is due to a side strain. Naman Dhir, who replaced Prasidh Krishna for the ongoing series against the West Indies, has retained his spot.
