India and Zimbabwe Women will be meeting at T20Is for the first time. All games of this three-match series will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur from 7pm local time (2:30pm UK time).

This is Smriti Mandhana’s first assignment as India’s full-time captain in any format. She has led India in 18 T20Is before, winning 11 and losing six while one game ended in no result. Former captain is also part of the T20I squad, as Shafali Verma has been appointed Mandhana’s deputy.

India will miss Jemimah Rodrigues in this series as well: she is recovering from a hamstring injury. Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh Thakur, Radha Yadav and Bharti Fulmali, who were part of the Asian Games squad, have been left out.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe have retained the same squad that defeated the West Indies in an ODI last month. Though they lost all three T20Is, Josephine Nkomo’s side showed encouraging signs and will be keen on continuing to improve.
