Fans hold up Brazil flags in the Interlagos paddock

The 2026 Formula 1 season heads from Mexico City straight to Interlagos in Brazil for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, from 6-8 November.

Italian Kimi Antonelli is the new drivers' world champion after sealing the title with a third-place finish at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

The 20-year-old Mercedes driver is now the youngest world champion in the history of F1, beating previous record holder Sebastian Vettel by three years.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the race in Mexico, with Lewis Hamilton finishing second. The victory lifts Dutchman Verstappen to second in the standings, two points ahead of Ferrari's Hamilton.

Esteban Ocon won't be in Brazil after being dropped by Haas for the rest of the season. Brazilian 21-year-old Rafael Camara, who is set to join the team in 2027, will come in for the race in Sao Paulo.

Lights out for the 71-lap grand prix on Sunday is at 17:00 GMT.
