Shai Hope registered his fourth hundred of the ongoing white-ball tour of India in the fourth T20I in Hyderabad, equalling the record for the most centuries by an away batter against the hosts on an India tour.
The West Indies skipper continued his stellar form in India, smashing an unbeaten 102 off 50 deliveries on Wednesday, October 14, as they clinched the fourth T20I by 24 runs to level the series. West Indies posted 247 on the back of his century, which eventually proved too much for the hosts.
Earlier in the T20I series, Hope hammered 102 not out off 45 deliveries in Ranchi to help his side chase down 250 - the second-highest run-chase in T20 internationals. He also registered two centuries in the three-ODI series, hitting 104 off 94 in Guwahati and an unbeaten 162 off 143 to chase down 352 in the final ODI in Mullanpur.

Apart from Hope, only Everton Weekes and Tillakaratne Dilshan have scored four centuries against India on a single tour. Dilshan took 12 innings for his four hundreds in 2009/10, and while Weekes did it in seven innings, those centuries came in the longer format in 1948/49 against an India side that was still considered a minnow of the sport.
Steve Smith's India tour in 2017 is considered among the best-ever, where he racked up 499 runs from four Tests at 71.28, with three centuries against one of the strongest Indian sides of all-time. Hashim Amla also enjoyed a great tour of India in February 2010, when he slammed three hundreds in five innings across two Tests and as many ODIs, including a mammoth 253* in Nagpur.
Hope will have one more opportunity to become the visiting batter with the most centuries on an India tour when the West Indies line up against the hosts in the series-deciding fifth T20I in Bengaluru on Saturday, October 17.
