Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff strongly criticised Moto GP riders who questioned the safety of racing in Qatar amid the ongoing hostilities between Iran and the USA. He backed the Liberty Media-owned series and attacked competitors who he said “know nothing” about the situation.
RaceFans reader Red Andy was reminded of Wolff’s surprisingly vehement – and profane – reaction to criticism of Formula 1’s first race on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit three years ago:It’s not the first time Toto has acted as though his role is to robustly defend Liberty’s decision-making to the world.
Remember his sweary rant at some journalists who dared to question whether Carlos Sainz Jnr’s Ferrari being destroyed by a rogue Las Vegas drain cover was actually a bad thing.
I wonder if he is eyeing up Stefano Domenicali’s job, in the future?
