George Russell is sue he will get other chances to win the world championship as his defeat this season looks increasingly inevitable.
But will he ever get a chance as good as the one he had this year? Reader @Bernasaurus doubts it:
This season was one heck of an opportunity that most drivers never get and to ask for it again seems very optimistic. I know he says the car suits Kimi’s style more, but that’s not really the language of a world drivers’ champion – he’ll know that and I guess he has to say something.
I’m not saying that this opportunity definitely won’t happen again, just that even if it does, like others have said, Kimi will be a World Champion and all the perks, bravado and chutzpah that comes with it, he’ll presumably only be harder to beat.
But then who saw Nico beating Lewis to a title? Probably only Nico really. It’s happened before and in that team. But I do think George may look back on this season as a missed chance, and possibly the best one he got.
