Cattle scored 102 and 123 in the match, batting at number five for Australia U19 at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. With this effort, he created history, becoming the first Australian player to score twin tons in a Youth Test and the eighth overall to do so in the format. He was also the first whose efforts came in a defeat.

In the match, Cattle as the only Australian to put up a fight as India steamrolled the visitors. Opting to bat, Australia were bowled out for 217 in the first innings on the back of Cattle’s 102. The 17-year-old came out to bat with his team struggling at 27-3 and smashed 14 fours during his 198-ball stay. Zed Hollick (59) was the only other batter to score more than 25.

He stood tall yet again in the second innings. This time he came with Australia reeling at 17-3. He didn’t deter even as wickets fell at the other end, and stitched 101 for the eighth wicket with Connor Gregory (36). His 123 came off 114 balls and included 16 fours and four sixes. Despite his effort, Australia were bundled out for 229.

For India, Ishan Om picked up five wickets in the first innings and Yashbardhan Chauhan six in the second. With the bat, Lakshya Raichandani smashed 240, opening the innings and paving the way for a massive 277-run lead in the first innings.
