Aston Villa have sacked their women's manager Natalia Arroyo with the side second-bottom of the Women's Super League with two points from four matches.

Arroyo was appointed in January 2025 and guided Villa to safety before finishing ninth in her first full campaign. That season ended with four successive defeats and the poor form has continued.

Villa said Brian Sørensen, the women's technical adviser, would take temporary charge, including for the Subway Players Cup tie against Newcastle on Wednesday. Sørensen has extensive coaching experience, including in the WSL with Everton.
