Afghanistan defeated Zimbabwe last week to win the tri-series that also involved Bangladesh. The finalists of that tournament will now meet in the three-match T20I series starting October 27. All three matches will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah from 6:30pm local time (8pm IST, 3:30pm UK time).

Zimbabwe first met Afghanistan in the shortest format in October 2015. Eleven years later, they are still searching for their first ever T20I series win and will be keen to create history. Their confidence will also be high, having made it to the final of the ODI tri-series, ahead of Bangladesh, who failed to win a single game.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan will look to continue their domination over Zimbabwe in this format. They have dropped veteran Mohammad Nabi as well as Darwish Rasooli. Mohammad Akram has been called up after a decent show on debut in the 2026 Asian Games.

will continue to lead Zimbabwe, who have left out Innocent Kaia and Graeme Cremer from the squad and replaced them with Tafadzwa Tsiga and Vincent Masekesa.
