Playing for Boland against North West, Botha slammed an unbeaten 213 off 320 deliveries, featuring 17 fours and two sixes, in the second match of the CSA 4-Day Series Division 1 season. This was his third consecutive century in first-class cricket.

The 25-year-old scored 53 in the first innings of the penultimate encounter of the previous season, against Western Province. He then finished the season with a bang, scoring 139 runs in the first innings against North West, which was his maiden century in first-class cricket.

Botha carried the form into the ongoing season with a 170-run knock against the Lions in the season opener before notching up a third consecutive ton and turning into an unbeaten double century against North West. The all-rounder has now amassed a stunning 647 runs in his last four matches in first-class cricket.

Overall, Botha has scored 784 runs in 10 first-class matches so far at an average of 71.27. He has also picked up 13 wickets in 14 innings at 47.84 each, with a four-wicket haul to his credit.

As far as the match is concerned, runs were in abundance on a flat pitch at Boland Park in Paarl. The North West side batters made the most of the conditions after opting to bat first, posting a mammoth 642-4 before declaring on the back of Diego Rosier’s brilliant double century. He notched up his highest FC score of 211, with 20 fours and two sixes, with Ruan de Swart (138*) and skipper Wihan Lubbe (107*) chipping in with respective hundreds as well.

Boland also responded strongly, thanks to Botha's double ton and a century from Gavin Kaplan (123). They batted for 186.1 overs to get to 596-9 before the match ended in a draw.
