Chad Laycock claimed a record five wickets in a single over as KZN Inland faced Titans, becoming the first South African to achieve the feat.
The 19th over of Titans' innings began with Laycock dismissing Leus du Plooy, before conceding two runs to new batter Dayyaan Galiem. In the same over, Laycock got Galiem, Aphiwe Mnyanda, Janco Smit and Esosa Aihevba to claim four wickets in four balls and finish the over with five scalps. Titans were bowled out for 204 after being 193-4 at one stage.
Laycock finished with career-best figures of 6-26, becoming the fourth bowler to take five wickets in an over in men's T20 cricket, and the first from South Africa.
Laycock had struck earlier in the Titans innings, dismissing for 81 off 36 balls in the ninth over. Pretorius and his opening partner Sinethemba Qeshile had added 112 before Laycock provided KZN Inland with their first breakthrough.
Laycock also contributed with the bat during the chase, remaining unbeaten on a 25-ball 31. However, KZN Inland fell short of their target of 205, finishing on 183-6 to lose by 21 runs. The victory extended the Titans' unbeaten run in the competition to six matches and kept them at the top of the table.

Since making his T20 debut in November 2024, Laycock has played 16 matches, scoring 217 runs and taking eight wickets at 13.50. He has also featured in eight first-class matches, recording a highest score of 108 not out and taking seven wickets. In seven List A matches, he has a highest score of 99 not out and nine wickets.
