Abhishek Sharma slammed the fastest T20I ton for full-member batters to help India register a 127-run victory against Afghanistan in Delhi.
Abhishek broke the full-member record when he took just 30 deliveries to get to his hundred before being dismissed for 108 off 34. The record was earlier jointly held by Sikandar Raza and Finn Allen, both of whom managed hundreds off 33 balls each against Gambia and South Africa, respectively.
After scoring a boundary off Fazalhaq Farooqi in the first over to start the proceedings, Abhishek took down Azmatullah Omarzai in the second over with two sixes and a four. He then continued his assault against Farooqi, taking him for 22 off five deliveries in the third over.
After an 11-run fourth over, Sanju Samson and Abhishek took Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan for 29 and 15 runs, respectively. Samson welcomed Nabi in the fifth over with two sixes, after which Abhishek upped the ante with 16 off the last three balls (two sixes and a four), which took him to a 16-ball 50. He then scored two boundaries and a maximum off Rashid in the sixth over as India surged to 100-0 in the powerplay.
The left-handed opener then dispatched two sixes against Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the eighth over, which got him into the nineties. After a six on the second ball of the following over by Abdollah Ahmadzai, Abhishek tucked a single to bring up his hundred off 30 deliveries, taking just 14 balls to convert his fifty into three figures.

When he was finally dismissed in the 10th over, India were just eight short of 150. Samson also scored a 35-ball 50, but there was little support from others as India got to 221-7. Skipper Shreyas Iyer scored a 20-ball 29.
Afghanistan were then skittled out for 94. Skipper Ibrahim Zadran (25) was the only batter to go past the 20-run mark, while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravi Bishnoi took three wickets each, and Axar Patel managed two.
